Live Child African Ministries Uganda is a beacon of hope for the most vulnerable children in Jinja District and the slums of Jinja City. We are a community-based organization committed to empowering communities through education, health, and development. Every day, we encounter children who have dropped out of school, some as young as 8, forced to work as sugar cane harvesters in fields that offer no escape from poverty. Others face unspeakable violence in homes where they should be safe, enduring sexual, psychological, and physical abuse from those meant to protect them. In some of the poorest neighborhoods, children are left to raise themselves—heading families with no one to turn to, no food to eat, no roof that offers shelter, no hope for a future.
