Live Child African Ministries Uganda Joins World AIDS Day Celebrations in Jinja City

On December 12, 2024, Live Child African Ministries Uganda (LICAM-UG) proudly participated in the World AIDS Day commemoration at Mafubira Health Center II in Jinja City. Under the theme “Accelerating the Interventions to End AIDS by 2030,” the event focused on raising awareness, promoting HIV testing, and rallying the community to intensify efforts in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

The event brought together key dignitaries, including the Deputy Resident City Commissioner, Kiganira Haminsi Nagayi, and stakeholders from various organizations. In collaboration with partners like TASO, Family Hope, and Nakanyonyi Orphanage Care, LICAM-UG contributed to the success of the day by providing free HIV testing and counseling services, ensuring that community members had access to vital health services.

The day was filled with engaging activities, including a banner and band procession that passed through multiple wards in Jinja, spreading the message of HIV prevention. Local performances, speeches from people living with HIV, and remarks from key partners highlighted the importance of continued advocacy and collective action.

While the event faced some challenges due to limited resources, the strong community participation and support from all stakeholders made it a memorable and impactful occasion. LICAM-UG remains committed to supporting the fight against HIV/AIDS and looks forward to further collaborations in accelerating the interventions needed to end the epidemic by 2030.

Stay connected with us as we continue to work towards an HIV-free future!
